Rescue South Africa is an NGO established in 2000 whose goal is to develop the Urban Search and Rescue Capacity within South Africa and the SADEC region.

Rescue South Africa carries representation from a broad cross section of the disaster and emergency services fraternity throughout all provinces including governmental, non-governmental and private entities.

We have responded to numerous sudden onset disasters including earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions, aeroplane crashes, structural and trench collapses. We have also provided logistical and management support to large scale incidents including the Xenophobia camps in 2008.
