Preamble:   
The instructors that will be presenting this program are experienced fire fighters from municipal fire brigades and well experienced professional fire fighting instructors

Target Population:  
This course is designed for any persons who in the course of their normal duties would be required to identify a fire and take the necessary action in order to contain or extinguish it according to their procedures.

Desired Outcome:   
After completion of this course the candidate will be able to safely apply firefighting techniques.

Minimum/maximum no of delegates: 10-20

Course Prerequisites:  
The candidate should be able to communicate and be functionally literate in English. The candidate should be medically sound and fit.

• Fire behavior and the fire tetrahedron
• Compartment fire behavior
• Actions to take in the case of an emergency
• Classes of fire
• Types of firefighting equipment (hand held extinguishers and hose reels).
• Application of fire fighting techniques and classes of fire extinguishers
