The instructors that will be presenting this programme are considered specialists in the field. The heavy lifting and moving instructors are Structural Collapse Technician instructors and have considerable practical collapse experience.
Target Population:
This course has been adapted from the Structural Collapse Technician Programme.
This course is designed for any persons who in the course of their normal duties would be required to lift and move various objects in order to extricate a casualty.
Desired Outcome:
After completion of this course the candidate will be able to operate as an integral part of a team that undertakes heavy lifting and moving evolutions in order to rescue a patient.

Course Prerequisites:
The candidates should be active members of an Emergency Response Team.

- Patient based rescue approach.
- Heavy lifting and moving using hydraulic tools, levers and bi-pods.
- Pneumatic tool safety.
- Pneumatic tool daily checks and basic maintenance.
- High, medium and low pressure pneumatic bags.
- Scenario based evolutions.
