Preamble:   
The instructors that will be presenting this program are considered specialists in the field.

Target Population:  
This course is designed for any persons who in the course of  their normal duties would be required to operate at a technician level in a high angle rescue environment.

Desired Outcome:   
After being assessed as competent the candidate will be able to operate as an integral part of a team that undertakes rescue operations in a high angle environment.

Course Prerequisites:  
In order to gain entry a candidate must have completed and be competent in High Angle 1 Rescue.
It is envisaged that in order to register with SAQA or the HPCSA a candidate should be registered as a BAA and have a Matric Certificate.

Core Content: 

  • Multiple and self equalizing anchor systems.
  • Mechanical advantage systems.
  • Stretcher raising and lowering systems (horizontal and vertical).
  • Tensioned horizontal systems (high lines, cableways, Mc Guinness Suspension Systems).
  • Scenario based training evolutions.
  • During the program candidates will be expected to perform all roles involved in a High Angle Rescue scene (command, safety, rescue technician, medic and gopher).
