Preamble:
This course is based on the IFSTA Incident Management Systems Course.
The instructors that present this programme are considered specialists in the field. The Incident Management Systems instructors have considerable training experience as well as command experience in large scale incidents and disasters.
Target Population:
This course is designed for any persons who in the course of their normal duties would be required to assume a tactical level command at an emergency incident or overall incident command at a routine incident.
Desired Outcome:
After completion of this course the candidate will be able to operate at a tactical command level in a team that responds to emergency incidents managed according to the Incident Management System.

Course Prerequisites:
The candidates should during their course of their employment be required to assist at or respond to emergency incidents.

- The IMS System.
- Levels of command and their roles and responsibilities.
- Expanding the organization.
- Types of command.
- Command tools.
- Scenario based evolutions (table top).
- Candidates will be required to perform various roles as dictated by a specific command structure.
