This course is designed for any persons who in the course of their normal duties would be required to command water rescue incidents, establish standard operating procedures and design proactive and reactive systems.

After having attended this program the candidate will be familiarized with a management roles and responsibilities in a swift water and flood rescue system.

Course Prerequisites:  
The candidates attending this program should be involved at a senior level with swift water and flood prevention, response and mitigation systems.

  • The urban flash flood profile.
  • Historical look at seasonal flooding and flood related responses.
  • Early warning systems.
  • Flash flood response (desired initial and secondary response).
  • Flash flood SOP’s.
  • Equipping and establishing a system.
  • Desk top exercises.
